Our facilities
NCOC production facilities include onshore and offshore complexes.
Offshore
The offshore complex consists of 5 artificial islands - D Island, A Island, EPC-2, 3 and 4. D Island is the first hub in Kashagan field used for crude production and gas re-injection, as well as for initial separation of the products produced on D Island and on its satellite drilling and production islands. Oil and gas are transported through 28-inch diameter field pipelines to onshore production facilities.
Onshore
Bolashak Onshore Processing Facility (OPF) is located 35 km to the east of Atyrau city. Its total area is 350 hectares. The OPF processes sour oil and sour gas to the sale quality specifications and exports by pipelines. Processing of sour gas in OPF results in generation of high purity elemental sulphur. The sulphur is transformed into solid pastilles and exported by railcars. Bolashak Onshore Processing Facility (OPF) is located 35 km to the east of Atyrau city. Its total area is 350 hectares. Bautino Base in Mangystau Oblast is the main logistics support base for Kashagan field located 280 km to the north of the Base. Tupkaragan Bay is a natural harbour, free of ice and navigable all year round. All these factors and sufficient water depth contributed to its selection as the location for construction of a marine logistics support base. The Base provides support for offshore operations, marine fleet coordination, along with supply and storage of materials, equipment and fuel. Moreover, one of the main purposes of Bautino Base is an emergency oil spill response in the entire offshore area of operations carried out under the Production Sharing Agreement in respect of the North Caspian Sea.
